Room 101 (Day 24 - 27)

Big Brother may be evil, but thankfully he also has a sense of humour. This week's workhouse task is a classic example of both traits in action. The housemates must wear a dreary uniform and are told they each must complete a workhouse shift for each day of the task.
Max seems happy enough sorting the maggots in Room 101 - but he probably wouldn't be smiling if he knew what the other housemates were up to!
Vanessa enthusiastically volunteers to be worker number 1, but has serious second thoughts when it is revealed that today's chore is to sort red, green and yellow maggots into different jars. Big Brother calls her to work in 'Room 101' (get it?) but she bottles out hysterically without setting foot inside.
When BB asks for someone to replace Vanessa on her shift, Max volunteers.
Moments later Anthony is jumping for joy as he reads a new laminate provided by Big Brother, which has details of the 'real' task. It turns out that Maxwell, as worker no. 1, is the only housemate who will be given chores. While he's slaving in the workhouse everyone else will be treated to party food and drinks in the garden! To pass the task the partying housemates have to convince Max that they have also completed gruelling shifts. "This is class!" cries Anthony.
Saskia also can't keep from grinning, especially as she watches Max and his maggots flash up on the monitor!
Saskia delights in Maxwell's misfortune as she sees him on the monitor, stoically sorting maggots in Room 101.
There is more glee when the patio blinds roll up. The garden has been transformed into a kiddie's paradise! There's a chocolate fountain, a table full of sweeties, ice cream on tap and a bouncy castle for all to enjoy.
Derek's voice of maturity is heard warbling the words "bouncy castle!" as he excitedly out-trampolines the younger boys and girls.
Before Maxwell's shift draws to an end the housemates are told to go and wait in room 105, where they dirty themselves up with sawdust and maggots to make it look like they've been working.
Maxwell's headphones tell him his shift is over and he returns to the now empty house. The housemates file in one by one, each trying in their different ways to look like they've completed a shift. In the diary room Maxwell tells Big Brother "you always get a couple of lightweights crying off. It's not as if it was a room full of snakes, it was a few maggots." He gives credit to Vanessa for going back to complete a shift, but he is not impressed by Makosi breaking into tears.

On day 2 of the task (Monday) Max has to retrieve and assemble nuts and bolts from a vat of oil, and on day 3 (Tues) he shells prawns. Day 3 is probably the nearest the housemates come to blowing their cover. Big Brother serves up high tea in the garden, with plenty of wine on tap too! An extremely tipsy Makosi leads her workmates back to room 105 in a hilarious silent conga.

She is still pickled when she walks back into the house after her supposed work shift. Luckily Maxwell isn't there to witness her wobbles and hear her slurring her words. Uncle Derek takes matters in hand, and whisks her off to her bed to recover from the 'gruelling shift'. Presumably Max just thinks she's playing the drama queen again!

On tipsy-tippy-toes, Makosi leads the line of party animals back to their Room 105 hideaway.
On day 4 Big Brother assembles the the housemates in the lounge and calls Maxwell to the diary room to ask him about the task. Unbeknownst to Max, the others are watching him on the lounge monitor. He tells lady Big Brother "we've got a couple of mincers, who don't like getting their hands dirty... but I think we've managed to conquer their fears. Everybody's been striving to sort this one out." When he gets back to the lounge Big Brother announces that the 'housemates' have passed the task.
Makosi bemuses Maxwell by calling out "Three cheers for Maxwell!..." And when the cheers are over she explains the reason for them. His achievement even earns a kiss and an accolade from Derek, "You're a soldier. You're a leader of men! And I for one care to follow in your destiny."
Max sees the funny side, "I'm the only one who can pass the f***ing task in this gaff!"
