| The Cider House Rules? (Day 26) |
| When Maxwell changed last week's shopping list to include a cider supply for the Saskia gang he knew the others wouldn't like it... and he was right! |
| Vanessa dares voice her disapproval, "...it's out of line that you took things off the list without telling everyone." |
| Max protests that no-one listened to what he had wanted when compiling the list, so he felt justified in adding 8 cans of cider to the order. |
"Why should 8 cans of lager or whatever it was, be shared between 3 people?" asks Derek. "Which is what I f***ing wanted." Max tells him, "People got what they wanted and I haven't had f*** all." Derek reminds Max that he didn't get anything he wanted. Max's reply is somewhat at odds with his own argument, "Well that's life innit!" |
| Max appeals to Vanessa, Derek, Kemal and Makosi that if anyone has a problem with what he did, they should voice it now or have done with it. |
When Vanessa persists "I think you're wrong for not telling us before going into the diary room", Saskia goes on the offensive. She tells Vanessa that she knows she has nicked her crisps, because "your best friend told me". Vanessa owns up but her apologies don't seem good enough for Saskia who delights in telling Vanessa that she is "a greedy bastard, you always have been. You're a scavenger when it comes to food. You ponce..." |
| Despite Derek's calls for a way forward, nothing is resolved by the conflict. It seems that the divide amongst the housemates has simply widened a little. |
